The Capcom Store Tokyo in Shibuya Parco is one of five Capcom flagship stores nationwide with two locations outside of Japan in Shanghai and Taipei. Fans of Capcom series from Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Mega Man, Okami, Monster, and much more can find exclusive merchandise here and on their online store.
The store stands out with this giant and detailed statue of Ryu from Street Fighter performing his signature hadoken attack. It’s a great photo spot for any fan.
Usually this wall has some of the more expensive merch on display but with the latest release of Capcom’s newest game Pragmata it makes sense they took the opportunity to fully advertise it instead.
On the left is a signature from e-sports player Tokido who is in the Street Fighter League. They even decorated around his shikishi signature board with main character JP. Next to it is a preview of soon to be released Pragmata merch along with a shikishi signed by Miou Tanaka the seiyuu Japanese voice actor for Hugh Williams.
The Capcom Store often features collaborative merch from various fan artists featuring lots of their main series and characters. It’s always fun to see them drawn in different styles.
Fans of the Mega Man and Sengoku Basara series will be happy to see there is still new merch coming out for their favorite series and characters.
With the latest surprise announcement on the Okami 20th anniversary that a new game is coming out you can bet that Capcom is putting in more effort to showcase merch again. Some of the merch on display here was actually part of a special Tsutaya collaboration a few months ago. It’s nice to see that the leftover merch is still available and a great exclusive pickup for fans.
The Capcom Store also has original art of the main characters from their franchises that diehard fans can pickup. They’re exclusive to the stores so it’s definitely not something you want to miss out on if you love Capcom.
Looking for plushies? Fear not as Capcom has their very own series of them called Capcoron that come in different bean sizes and can stack for adorable pictures. They also regularly produce plushies from popular series like these fluffy Palicoes from Monster Hunter Wilds.
The main characters and even sub characters of major Capcom series usually get the Capcoron treatment so be sure to check them out if you have a favorite you’re searching for. Even some not so major series get the treatment like Ghost Trick so keep an eye out.
Monster Hunter
Half of the store is dedicated exclusively to the Monster Hunter franchise which makes a lot of sense when you stop by to see just how much merch there is for the series.
The latest merch releases are on display right at the front of the store. All of these new monster designs from Monster Hunter Wilds are so cool.
There’s a bit of everything for everyone in all sorts of styles. B-Side Label stickers, Grapht weapon decals you can iron onto fabric, and even cute designs of monsters as part of Monster Hunter Chibi Style collection.
The Monster Hunter series is also well known for their monster figures. These random sets may be smaller but the details are amazing. Be sure to check for the most recent releases and sometimes older ones may pop up too.
You can’t go wrong with the amazingly detailed Capcom Figure Builder Creators Model series from Monster Hunter either. Main monsters like Rathalos, Rathian, Rey Dau, and Arkveld are readily available. There were also plenty of Lagiacrus, Mizutsune, and Kushala Daora figures available as well. While the prices are a bit of a premium for these much larger statues the quality is well worth it for fans and collectors.
Some of the older merch drops are still available as the Capcom Store regularly circulates through their stock so don’t lose hope if you happened to miss a drop or collaboration. They may still be in stock so be sure to take a look!
Did someone say blind boxes? All of these smaller gacha purchases are small and affordable if you happen to want to pack or travel lightly. There’s even wafers that come with exclusive stickers so you can have a snack with your merch.
Finally the last stop on your Monster Hunter section visit should be taking a legendary photo op with the King of the Skies himself while wielding a great sword like a true hunter. I saw a family lift up their baby to hold the hilt and it was the cutest photo idea ever so don’t let age deter you from getting a great pic!
Tips & Tricks
When to visit? Arrive early to beat the crowds. Most popular shopping destinations in Japan get very crowded from the afternoon onward especially on the weekend and some stores are forced to turn away customers.
Get a Free Coaster: Follow the Capcom socials and get a free coaster! In addition you can also get free coasters of the respective series for taking pictures and posting them of the Rathalos photo spot and the Street Fighter Ryu statue. Who doesn’t love a quick freebie and a very portable one.
