We happened upon a whole row of the rereleased Pikmin Marker Accessory Series 2 gashapon machines and just had to try our luck. It’s always a treat to get to nab some of the Nintendo gachas but Pikmin are extra cute and not very common to see around. Marker accessories have become really popular and are great for use as keychains or in marking off things like umbrellas, plastic bottles, and similar objects the rubber bands can wrap around. Best of all these small capsule toys are very true to the size of Pikmin themselves since they are little life forms that help you out in the game. They get to stay true to their usefulness and the art of dandori organizing.
There are 9 different types: Blue Pikmin, Yellow Pikmin, Red Pikmin, Winged Pikmin, Rock Pikmin, White Pikmin, Purple Pikmin, and the two new additions to series 2; the Ice Pikmin and Glow Pikimin.

My Gacha Luck

Unfortunately there was a big casualty this time around. Even though we had pulled the new Ice Pikmin our little one ended up losing it in all the chaos of a busy weekend store and us not catching when it dropped. Within the excited crowds of people and all the noises it was impossible to keep track of everything as we weaved out of the way. By the time we noticed it was too late but I suppose the saving grace was that she had yet to actually open it so she didn’t get upset at the loss it was like it never happened. Our guilt over not paying attention and the lost 300 yen still remained but it was a good lesson to learn in little one parenting when out in a busy area.
I have come up with a new system to avoid lost gachas especially when pulling multiples in a row in a busy area. I now have an eco bag hooked to our little one’s stroller so that I can immediately drop them into for safe keeping. If she then wants to open or play with them I wait until I’m in a controlled area to pass it along to her and wait while she opens it. Usually once she gets to the capsule toy inside she holds onto it for dear life so I can safely recycle the rest and keep an eye on the toy.
While this is a gacha with 9 possible outcomes if you’re a fan of Pikmin there really is no losing giving it a shot! These little capsule toys are cute and useful so we highly recommended picking some up if you can.
Do you have a favorite Pikmin? What would you like to use your marker accessories on? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
