The Phantom Thieves Take Over Daiso and Seria this Summer!
Coming out of nowhere and surprising fans just like the Phantom Thieves themselves, brand new Persona 5 Royal merchandise has hit the shelves of Daiso and Seria 100yen shops throughout Japan. The sheer variety of the collection is impressive for any otaku on a budget. Be sure to check them out while supplies last!
For those unfamiliar with the game, Persona 5 Royal (the definitive version of Persona 5) was released in 2019 in Japan and 2020 worldwide. The story follows a group of high school students who become the Phantom Thieves and venture into the dreamlike world of the Metaverse to steal the hearts of corrupt adults and bring them to justice. The award-winning JRPG is part of the Persona series developed by ATLUS and to date has sold over 8 million copies and is the best-selling game in the franchise to date.
The Merch Lineup
The lineup includes acrylic stands, acrylic keychains, stickers, cards, can badge mirrors, and acrylic blocks featuring the main characters (Joker, Morgana, Skull, Panther, Fox, Queen, Navi, Noir, Crow, Violet, Justine, and Caroline). In addition, there are rubber figures featuring Morgana, Joker, Skull, Fox, Panther, and Queen in their uniforms as well as two face pouches featuring Joker and Morgana.
My Gacha Luck

My husband was the one who popped into Daiso to nab two of each of most of the merch or rather what was still available. The pouches and mini figures were completely sold out which isn’t surprising from a fan’s perspective especially of a best-selling JRPG like Persona 5 Royal. The pouches and mini figures would be great additions to anyone’s collection and still a steal at just 550yen a piece even if that is a high price tag at a 100yen store.

With my spread of mystery merch laid out it was time to tear each tab and see what was inside. Our little one was just as excited as us to try to see what was inside. Okay maybe not what was inside she just wanted to play with the bright fun packaging. Each item survived her roughhousing just fine.
My hope was to at least not get doubles of characters in each type of merch since we only got two of each. I was aiming for Joker since he’s my favorite character and Fox for a good friend of mine but I do like all the characters in the series and really enjoyed the designs for this collection.

The designs for each item are really striking and stylish in true Persona fashion and most of them aren’t repeated. Everything is wrapped with a film so be sure to remove them when you’re ready to use them. If you’re afraid of damaging them, fear not as 100yen stores also sell plenty of great covers and holders to protect your merch on the go or to display at home. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of each item for the prices and highly recommend them. This isn’t their first collaboration with otaku IP and hopefully it won’t be the last featuring Persona.
We passed on the stickers this time but plan to make another run for them on another visit so stay tuned for a gacha luck update! Who knows, maybe we’ll luck out and find some of the rubber figures then too. I’m still praying I’ll find the face pouches because they’re just too cute. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

UPDATE: We popped by another store and while there were still no rubber figures or pouches we did pick up stickers and cards to try our luck once more. This time we got 4 stickers and 2 cards.

Also if you haven’t played Persona 5 Royal yet now is a great time to consider it as it’s on sale right now as part of the Steam Summer Sale! With the next installment in the Persona series officially announced and Persona 4 Revival coming out February 18, 2027 now is a great time to dive into the franchise.
