The SEGA Store Tokyo features merchandise of iconic game characters from SEGA and ATLUS. Through their innovative and captivating characters, they aim to create a space where visitors can experience surprise, inspiration, and a sense of connection. This description does not overexaggerate as while the store space may seem small at first it is bursting with unique and limited edition merchandise from major game franchises including Sonic the Hedgehog, Like a Dragon (Yakuza), Persona, and much more.

After passing by the exciting digital signs out front fans can find some SEGA Store Tokyo exclusive gacha machines to choose from. They had everything from newer Persona merch to classic SEGA Saturn and Mega Drive gachas.

The store is well lit in the SEGA and Sonic blue. However these giant Sonics are sporting some unique patterns in stylish Shibuya fashion that are limited edition to the store. I personally love the one with all the characters on it even though it’s busy it definitely is a throw back to some of the plushies I collected back when I first played Sonic on the Mega Drive.

There used to be a statue of Shadow the Hedgehog on display here if I remember correctly but now it’s this super cool silver Sonic with a Chaos Emerald hidden inside. He’s of course surrounded by lots of Sonic themed merchandise including the miniature arcade machine.

Next to the gacha machines are exclusive items and new arrivals. While at first glance most of it is all Sonic themed if you look at the SEGA Labbies section you’ll see there are other characters too. These unique teddy bears come in the form of the Persona 3 protagonist, Joker the Persona 5 protagonist, and Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, and Yoshitaka Mine from Like a Dragon. I’m also a big fan of he SEGA Cooro plushies that now include a Chao and Maria.

The Sonic the Hedgehog section is without a doubt the biggest in the store since it takes up extra corners at the front with exclusive SEGA Store Tokyo merch and the decorations too.

Even more exclusive items are displayed in the main section including all of these Sonics with traditional Japanese motifs that are great souvenirs.

The latest and cutest Sonic blind box figures are also on display and on sale individually or in a box set.

I had no idea this Sonic the Hedgehog Japanese survival guide existed but for diehard fans or those wanting to learn Japanese in style I imagine this is a fun ride for sure.

What SEGA store would be complete without the SEGA brand and logo itself having its own merch section? They really went out of their way to put it on just about anything you could think of using or collecting.

This is probably my favorite decoration of the store because it’s just so giant and extra but they raised the floor so they could put the SEGA logo beneath shoppers feet. I’m not sure if this was done as a nod to the Square Enix store back in the day or not but it was nostalgic to me of when I used to go to the original store that had a giant Sephiroth statue displayed in the same way.

Before the SEGA Store Tokyo arrived I always had a hard time finding and guiding friends and fans to a dedicated Like a Dragon merch spot but now that’s no longer an issue. While popular items like the hangars aren’t in stock with all the main characters any longer it’s nice to see so much that is in stock and new and exclusive items too.

The Like a Dragon SEGA Cooro are the perfect pocket sized to take anywhere on nuikatsu adventures and cute photo ops like this display. While there still isn’t much merch of him my favorite Like a Dragon side character Ono Michio has some new merch as well that I can’t wait to pick up next time.

Fans of Hatsune Miku and rhythm games will recognize the Project Sekai Colorful Stage section immediately. All the main characters and Vocaloids have cute color coded merch and plushies.

The ATLUS section has a wall dedicated to Metaphor: ReFantazio and the company’s flagship Shin Megami Tensei series including the newly remastered Raidou series. Some of their recurring demons are front and center including a whole lineup of new Jack Frost themed items.

The Persona section is the largest part of the ATLUS area of the store especially right now with the 30th anniversary of the franchise this year.

There are replicas, figures, and statues of in-game items and characters from Persona 3 and 5 in readily in stock lining these shelves. By far the franchises most popular games to date with how many remasters and definitive versions of each game that have been released. There is no shortage of new merchandise to choose from.

These Persona 30th anniversary x Bkub Okawa collaboration items are very cute and feature the artist’s iconic cheeky expressions on your favorite Persona main characters. For those who may not be familiar with Bkub Okawa by name they are the mangka behind Pop Team Epic and contributes art to Ensemble Stars as well.

This last shelving area was basically dedicated to new merchandise centered around the Persona series 30th anniversary. I thought the pin set in particular was really cool and unique for diehard fans of the entire franchise. It’s good to see every single game getting individual love even the first two games that are still lesser known today. The mascot characters also got brand new merchandise which I was very happy for as a big Koromaru fan myself.

Fans of any of these SEGA and ATLUS game series and even those just passing through will definitely have a hard time leaving empty handed. Be sure not to miss out on this store whenever you can visit the Shibuya Parco!

When to visit? Arrive early to beat the crowds. Most popular shopping destinations in Japan get very crowded from the afternoon onward especially on the weekend and some stores are forced to turn away customers.
