Gashapon Tour 2026: Free Gacha Fun Flies into Ikebukuro Sunshine City
Overview Gashapon Tour 2026 Where: Ikebukuro Sunshine City Event Period: From Friday, October 9, 2026 to Sunday, October 11, 2026 Official Website:https://gashapon.jp/gashapon-tours2026/ TL;DR: Want some free gacha? Bandai Namco’s Gashapon Tours 2026 brings capsule toy fans to Ikebukuro Sunshine City for a limited-time event packed with fun, surprises, and hands-on experiences.
We stumbled upon a gacha fan’s dream event when we heard about Bandai Namco’s Gashapon Tour 2026 coming to Ikebukuro Sunshine City. Not only was it full of everything a capsule toy fan could dream of but it was also completely free and family friendly. For those of you unfamiliar with the Sunshine City mall in Ikebukuro check out my ultimate guide for more details.
The Gashapon Tour 2026 features the brand new Gashapon Friends characters as they take you on an exciting round trip starting from your departure gate check-in all the way to your arrival.
Once you complete your check-in at the departure gate you get your first free gacha pull!
The prize was one of three adorable keychains featuring the Gashapon Friends.
Next visitors will board the Gashapon Jet including a full in-flight video. My favorite feature was the fasten seatbelt sign actually being a visual on how to open a capsule. There were so many cute details it was hard to catch them all with a full flight.
Then you enter the Gashapon Welcome area featuring a giant photo spot and the first stamp in the free digital stamp rally.
Please note that to participate in the digital stamp rally visitors will need to sign up for a Bandai Namco account and also have the LINE application. This may take some time at the venue and internet can be a bit finicky so we recommended setting up this stuff ahead of time if possible. There are also staff members who can help you if you have any questions or trouble connecting.
Each photo spot at the event had these cute signs to hold up when taking pictures and there were lots of staff members at the ready to assist. Every section also had a cute little introduction blurb as well to add a story to the trip.
The next area we stepped into was the Sea of Gashapon filled with over 350 different types of upcoming and available capsule toys.
I really loved how they added the lighting effects to make it feel like we were under water.
There were a lot of familiar lineups including the Animal Crossing coasters I got at the Nintendo Tokyo Store in Shibuya Parco. Along with game gacha from Pokemon, Mario, Pikmin, and more. I’m looking forward to the Katamari Damacy cousin heads and Monster Hunter translucent keychains coming out soon.
There were also a lot of great classic and new anime and other pop culture capsule toys including Godzilla and other kaiju. It was so nice to see Summer Wars getting a new gacha and the Yu Yu Hakusho keychains were very cute. Anime fans can’t go wrong with new gacha coming out for series like Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Kingdom, and Apothecary Diaries either.
Once we were done traversing the Sea of Gashapon it was time to go explore the Gashapon Islands.
As you can tell I was most drawn to the realistic animal and insect models. These always stand out whenever we visit gashapon centers because they are usually right at the front and a bit more expensive but always have some of the models on display. The details put into them from construction to paint job are really impressive and suitable for collectors of all ages. There were also plenty of anime represented by big names like One Piece, Gundam, and Dragon Ball and other character collaboration capsule toys too.
Another little spot that stood out to me was this recycled capsule section that featured Tamagotchi characters. Throughout the month of October fans who link their Namco points application and recycle 3 empty capsules into the special capsule collection machines at participating Gashapon Bandai official shops will receive an original Tamagotchi themed sticker. Check out the official website here for more details.
After checking out all the Gashapon Islands it was time to head to the Gashapon Carnival to have some fun and test our skills. There were quite a few fun activities like this quiz wall where you turn the handle to get the answer.
There were also a lot of fun maps of the world and Japan showing all the locations of the official Bandai Gashapon shops. I had no idea there were so many all over the world already.
However the biggest attraction was right in the middle of the main event hall. If you entered the area and noticed the sound of people shouting the word gashapon then this is where it was coming from.
With a line that was 45 minutes long by the time we checked we wondered what all the fuss was about. The Shout! Gashapon Challenge was a game where visitors shouted the word gashapon as loud as they could into a mic and tried to read a high score of over 30,000 points to hit S Rank and win the prize of one of the special gashapon shoulder bags. Any other score resulted in a sticker consolation prize. In addition, if you were able to beat the high score you also won a 1,000 yen voucher to the official Bandai Gashapon shop.
With prizes like these it wasn’t too surprising that everyone was lining up to give it their best shot. Our group lined up and within roughly 30 minutes of waiting we did see one person hit S rank so we knew it wasn’t impossible and had to try our luck. The stage setup with the mics was very cutely themed as they made the mic stand out of gashapon machines and covered the mic in a capsule color that matched the Gashapon Friend on screen.
The louder you were able to shout gashapon the further the character would fly and ultimately if you hit S rank would reach outer space. You can read how my group faired down below in the gacha luck section.
Once we had finished in the Gashapon Carnival it was time to head over to the Gashapon Treasure Island.
There was a friendly reminder that we should have collected 5 stamps by the time we entered and found ourselves walking through a little maze until we hit a spot where treasure was being excavated.
On display were the many treasures that Bandai Namco and Gashapon members can redeem through points including the coveted gashapon shoulder bag prize from the earlier game.
Finally we made it to the real treasure which was the final stamp and area to redeem for one last special free gashapon prize. I thought it was a very fitting way to round out the trip from starting with a free capsule toy to putting in that sightseeing work of gathering stamps to get one more gacha.
Finally, it was time to collect out luggage and leave a gacha note of thanks and say goodbye to the Gashapon Tour.
At the exit there was even a sign pointing visitors in the direction of the nearest official Bandai Gashapon shop that is conveniently located within Sunshine City. The Bandai Namco Cross Store was just a 3 minute trip away after the wonderful tour.

My Gacha Luck
My Gacha Luck Summary With a group of three Americans we were unable to secure the coveted S rank at the Shout! Gashapon Challenge so everyone got the consolation sticker. We used every tactic we could waiting in line and studying other competitors however the person who got S rank went completely under out radar. Unfortunately it left us feeling a bit like the system wasn’t working quite accurately but considering it was a free event and game it was still a fun experience. I got an extra sticker for posting with the event hashtag on my social media and everyone got a cute Gashapon history postcard for attending the event until the end. My Gashapon Friends keychain also matches nicely with my stamp rally gacha prize that is a Gashapon multi case keychain.
Overall for the grand total price of free this was a very fun and well rounded event. If we had to critique anything other than the game outcome it would be that the stamp rally was a bit difficult to sign up for. Other than that it was a lot of fun and very spacious. It was the first event like this in a while where I saw so many families and kids able to participate freely and the crowd never really got stuck anywhere too long other than the line for the challenge because there was plenty to do and see.
If you can’t make it in time for this very limited event fear not as there is still a full gashapon area in Sunshine City available every day during mall hours so be sure to check it out!
