I checked out the Square Enix booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026. They are admittedly one of my favorite large game companies because I love the Final Fantasy series however I have not played any version of the main Final Fantasy VII games so this year I wasn’t rushing to line up for anything.

The main part of the booth was of course dedicated to Final Fantasy VII Revelation the final installment in the trilogy.

As expected there was a huge turn out for the photo spots and even getting a spot to wait in them was limited. The waiting time had extended to 90 minutes for some and others were just closed until they could deal with crowd control. Players who go to play the demo could get their hands on novelty items as well.

They had a few cool hidden details in other parts of the area that are floating around like the wanted posters. It was just so crowded I couldn’t get many clear pictures of anything.

On the sides of the booth they had smaller areas dedicated to the other big game releases this year like Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World.

There was also a small item showcase of upcoming merch for the game and also the Dragon Quest series 40th anniversary.

The line was closed by the time I got there but there was also a cute meet and greet with the Fluffy mascot character as well.

On the other side of the booth there was a giant banner dedicated to Final Fantasy Resonance. If you checked out the Square Enix pamphlet you could play spot the difference between the two which I thought was a cute way to make them interactive.

There was also a display case featuring the latest merch and collab items for the game.

The Final Fantasy XIV section ended up just being a large screen showing trailers but also a little area the mascots could come out and do meet and greets.

I may have spent the majority of my time getting way too many pictures of the Moogle mascot. I had hoped to also catch Alpha but my timing was a bit off. You can all enjoy my mini gallery of the Moogle juxtaposed with the Evercold trailer.

At the NHN Playart booth there was a nice display of Final Fantasy Dissidia: Duellum along with cutouts of some of the main characters.

The new merch for the game looked super cute too. It’s really fun seeing classic Final Fantasy characters in more modern fashion.

If you posted on social media you could get a random cute chibi sticker of one of the characters too.

And that’s a wrap on my Square Enix coverage this time around. It was the first year I really couldn’t do too much at the booth since the space was mostly dedicated to the giant photo spots but they certainly stood out. At least the Moogle mascot was there to still give me my two shots of cuteness.

Be sure to check out more of my TGS booth coverage in part 2 of my event reports.
