We were checking out some gaschapon machines the other day when my partner spotted this new Digimon card acrylic charm gacha. I immediately knew which one I wanted most and dared to try my luck with him. This is actually the second series of the Digital Monster Card Game acrylic charms to be released. I hadn’t even realized there was a first collection but you can bet I’ll keep my eyes peeled if it pops up again or if there are more to drop in the future.

The product description on the official website reads:

The once-popular “Digital Monster Card Game” has been revived as acrylic charms! Fans can see their favorite Digimon come to life thanks to a double-layer printing process that creates a three-dimensional effect. Some charms feature holographic finishes and gold foil stamping to recreate the classic rare cards!

I felt a bit bad that even the product description described the series as being popular once before but Digimon has always pulled second fiddle to Pokémon. These days there are even more card game and monster collection themed franchises to compete against too. However if you have ever met a Digimon fan you know just how beloved that series truly is to them. So it was no wonder there was even a warning on the machine to only pull one at a time and take turns if other customers were waiting. My partner and I both pulled once and our results were surprising!

My Gacha Luck

My Gacha Luck Summary

My very first pull was the Greymon card and honestly it was the one I wanted most so I already was willing to put my gacha luck at max stars. Then my partner pulled out ExVeemon and the luck just kept coming. If we had pulled one more and gotten Garurumon it would have been a full sweep for me. The holo cards sounded cool but ultimately the Digimon we really wanted were the ones we pulled so that’s still max star luck in my book.

While these little acrylic charms are small and unassuming they are packed with detail and nostalgia. Digimon are still the champions even today in my book and to all the diehard fans still out there. In fact there’s even a brand new store that opened up in Ikebukuro and you can look forward to us checking that out in another entry to come.

Have you tried the Digital Monster Card Game Acrylic Charm gacha before? Did you used to play the card game? Who’s your favorite Digimon? Share your thoughts in the comments!
